THE RIVER AND THE CITY

PREFACE
Here Iam staring blank at the vast ocean through the little round opening, chained on both my legs stretching at a long distance at the bottom of the ship.A strong oduor lingers our atmosphere as no one had taken a shower for more than a week.Alongside me was more than a hundred more 'black prisoners' being sailed to an unknown land of the whites supremacists. We had welcomed them to our land promising us better living, our chiefs accepted their terms after been given all mesmerising gifts that they had not seen before. This included a lantern that could produce a light inside a glass. This would be the same thing that they would trade to the chiefs for our lives. My wife had been pregnant for atleast what they said was eight months.I wondered what she would do without me by her side as it was customary for the husband to be around when the birth time had arrived.
